Relaxed wedding photography – Why engagement sessions are a fab idea

So you want relaxed wedding photography? An engagement session is a perfect way to get the ball rolling, especially if you’re not 100% comfortable with the idea of being in front of the camera.

Now I know it probably seems daunting, but it really isn’t. I promise! This is an ace excuse for you and the other half to spend some time together doing a few of your favourite things. Whether that’s visiting your local pub’s beer garden, taking the dog for a walk, or popping down to your local cafe for coffee and cake. Leave the stresses of wedding planning at home for a couple of hours and come have a giggle with me.

You’ll be able to get to know your photographer / me a little better too. You can get a feel for how stuff will work, and know your “chosen one” isn’t going to be a stranger on the morning of your wedding. (There’s nothing worse than some randomer turning up with a camera and you not having a clue what they’re like.) Ask questions, have any fears? Don’t be afraid to share them! I want to help and I might just be able to put them ‘orrible buggers out of your mind.

These sessions aren’t overlay posed. There are no big magazine style productions and no one’s going to make you do anything you’re not comfortable with. If you want a piggy back ride or to throw leaves at each other I’m all for it, the outcome of this session is to show your personalities, not to make you out to be something you’re not. ‘Cause you’re pretty awesome and everyone needs to see that…

I hope if you were on the fence about having an engagement shoot you’ve found this little blog helpful. Keep scrolling if you’d like to book a chat!
