Rocking the dress without the diet stress…

by | Jan 27, 2019 | Wedding

We’ve all seen them, they’re pretty much everywhere you look nowadays articles about diets, celebrities promoting diets, and things to help you diet. I know this is probably a bit of a taboo subject for a lot of people, but after seeing a wedding blog use the tag line “Get skinny find a husband” at the beginning of the year and getting really pissed off about it I thought now was the right time to share my thoughts.

Now as a single girl this got right on my wick, firstly because I ain’t losing weight to make anyone happy but myself, and if anyone thinks any less of you because of a tag in your jeans they really aren’t worth worrying about. I believe sexiness has naff all to do with the size of your waistband, it’s something you ooze because you’re happy and confident in your own skin.

The time leading up to your wedding should be exciting and full of joy not filled with self-doubt because you’ve been inundated with articles that tell you, you should look a certain way. You’re beautiful just as you are and you’ll look stunning on your wedding day, the most important thing is that you’re happy and you have a wicked time with all of your favourite people.

I’m under no illusions that anyone is 100% happy with their bodies I know I’m not, we’d all probably change something about ourselves if we could and I agree if you’re losing weight in a healthy way because YOU want to it’s great but no one should be pressured into it by anyone especially, not by wedding blogs or by what they see on Instagram.

We should be building each other up not tearing each other down, there are enough outside forces trying to do that for us, so I say let’s flip them the bird and show a bit of solidarity.

Unfollow the accounts that make you feel shitty and step back from negativity and you’ll find the wedding planning process a much happier one.
