Wedding Flower Preservation

I’ve often wondered what you can do to keep your gorgeous flowers after your wedding day. I know a lot of people press/dry them, however, I didn’t know you could get them made into beautiful keepsake paperweights or pandora type charms. The lovely Sian from Forever Treasures got in touch about her business and kindly agreed to tell me a bit more about what she does, so I thought I’d share what she told me with you all to give you some alternative ideas to drying and pressing your wedding flowers.

Here’s what she said:

So, I started making resin items after a really rough time in my life. I did it to fill a void, however, I soon became hugely addicted. I quickly realised the importance of encasing items that are irreplaceable into resin.

Your wedding flowers form an important and beautiful part of your wedding or memorial flowers that want to be kept for a loved one. My flower preservation pieces allow your flowers to become keepsakes and memories of your special day.

There are so many different types of moulds. Letters that can spell your loved ones name or initials of the happy couple, paperweights, coasters and so much more. Jewellery keepsakes, pendants or Pandora type beads, rings and earrings can have small flowers or petals encased. I ensure all flowers are dried carefully this way they preserve their colour and texture. Some flowers can be pressed to create a flatter look.

I also soon began to realise there are so many things to be done with resin. Beautiful pictures, clocks, slate boards. These are made by placing pigments into the resin to create the most colourful and glossy pictures.
