2025 was full of colour, joy, awesome humans, and the kind of moments that make me grin behind the camera (and occasionally happy-cry… okay, maybe more than occasionally, but who’s counting?). I’m a Nottingham-based wedding photographer, and this is a round-up of some of my favourite moments from weddings I photographed across Nottingham and beyond. Think big feelings, mega-watt smiles, confetti, joyful dance floors, and all the wonderfully real, unplanned moments that make every wedding day completely, unapologetically individual.
If you’d told me three years ago, when I was juggling part-time retail shifts while building my business, that I’d now be three years self-employed and photographing weddings like this, I’d have laughed and said it would never happen. But here I am, somehow living that reality, and feeling incredibly grateful as I share some of that joy with you.

Weddings Across Nottingham and Beyond
I’ve been lucky enough to document 24 weddings, two engagement shoots, an epic cosplay shoot, and a 60th birthday party in 2025. From city centres and stately homes to barns, woodlands… and Chester Zoo. Yes. An actual zoo. I have well and truly been living my best photographer life.
2025 has definitely been the year of the dinosaur, epic confetti moments, and so many animals. Dogs, cats, tarantulas, alpacas, and lizards, to name just a few. There’s also been bumper cars, fire eaters, smoke flares, mariachi bands, live music, drag queens, homemade garden games and tattoos (yes… real ones).
I know I’ve forgotten something — so this may update 🤣
Joy doesn’t care about postcodes – Have camera, will travel!
I use public transport wherever possible (I’m always trying to be more environmentally friendly where I can), so please don’t think your wedding is “too far away”. If it means seeing a new part of the country and spending the day with an awesome couple, it’s a total no-brainer to pack an overnight bag, grab my cameras, and mosey off to a Premier Inn for the night.

A Year of Growth (and a Few Pinch-Me Moments)
Something that’s really important to me is never standing still. I never want to get to the point where I’m not challenging myself to be better not just for me, but for my couples (mainly for them, if I’m honest). I want to tell epic stories and capture real moments that show off each day exactly as it felt joyful, beautifully unpolished, emotional and completely unique.
That’s why I spend a lot of time learning, attending workshops and conferences throughout the year. In 2025, that included Doc Day in Dublin (always a brilliant experience) and Wedding Photography Is Art. The latter led to some truly incredible mentoring from the Mateers, and to winning the awards below… which still feels a bit surreal and definitely a pinch-me / happy dance moment.

Happy dances behind the scenes
I was also awarded a Highly Commended at the Quirky Wedding Awards, which I’m still properly buzzing about. This one meant the world to me, as it wasn’t judged just on my images, but also on my inclusivity and brand, something I care deeply about and am ridiculously proud of.
Safe to say, I’ll be carrying all of this energy, learning and excitement straight into 2026 (happy dances very much included).

Looking Ahead to Awesome 2026
I’m honestly so excited about what’s ahead in 2026. There are some absolute belters of weddings coming up, and I can’t wait to get stuck into another year of epic celebrations and real moments.
❤️ Kirsty x
