The Old Cow Shed Wedding Photographer – Taz & Molly’s Day

As an experienced The Old Cow Shed Wedding Photographer, I love to work at this amazing wedding venue in Melton Mowbray. Below you’ll find out just why I love to photograph weddings at The Old Cow Shed. It’s such a unique wedding venue in Leicestershire and perfect for any wedding couple looking for a relaxed but fun celebration.

Getting Married in an Actual Old Cow Shed

March weddings at The Old Cow Shed Wedding Venue in Melton Mowbray are elite. I don’t make the rules. There is just something wildly brilliant about gathering all your favourite humans inside a beautifully restored old cow shed (an ACTUAL one, I love the commitment 🐄) while the Leicestershire countryside is stretching into spring. The light is soft, the air feels fresh, and the vibe? Zero stiffness. Maximum joy.

This one had cosy indoor ceremony energy, proper belly laughs, emotional squeezes, and confetti launched with full-force enthusiasm. Colour everywhere. Happy chaos. Exactly the kind of wedding that makes me drive home grinning like an absolute idiot. 🌸✨🚀

A Beautiful Old Cow Shed Ceremony

The ceremony space inside The Old Cow Shed Wedding Venue in Melton Mowbray has this brilliant “everyone lean in” energy. You’re not miles away from each other, you’re not lost in some huge echoey room, you’re right there. Close enough to see the little hand squeezes, the wobbly smiles, the proud-parent faces doing everything they can not to cry. The rustic textures and original features give it so much character, but it still feels warm and welcoming.

It’s the kind of space that makes you forget you’re in an old cow shed… until you remember you’re in an old cow shed and that somehow makes it even better. 🐄✨

Taz and Molly’s ceremony was the perfect start to what turned into an epic, joy-filled, emotional (in the best way) and ridiculously fun day, the kind you wish you could bottle up and keep.

The Rainbow Confetti Moment

The outdoor space at The Old Cow Shed Wedding Venue in Melton Mowbray is an absolute dream. It’s made for a proper confetti tunnel moment (none of this half-hearted sprinkle business), a few beaut group shots, and some seriously epic smoke bomb magic. Taz & Mol went all in with a fantastic rainbow confetti mix and it was EVERYTHING! Colour flying everywhere, guests fully committing, pure joy in mid-air. When the sun’s shining and the drinks are flowing, this space just comes alive. It’s relaxed, it’s fun, and it photographs beautifully.

A colourful and personal wedding

Inside, it’s just as good. The space is such a brilliant blank canvas, which means you can completely make it your own. Taz & Mol went full-on oranges and pinks with DIY touches and some seriously stunning backdrops, and it looked unreal against the rustic textures of the shed. It’s one of those venues that lets personality shine rather than swallowing it… which I LOVE.

A wedding day full of emotion

I honestly can’t tell you how emotional, funny and completely full of love the speeches were. I’m pretty sure I felt and saw every single happy emotion going. The laughter, the family trying (and failing) not to cry, the slightly wobbly voices attempting to hold it together, it was all there. And yes… I may have shed a tiny happy tear myself, because the amount of love in that room was just unreal.

From Golden Hour to Full-On Party Mode

As the evening guests arrived, the energy somehow levelled up even more. There were (temporary!) tattoos, top-tier banter, and a golden sunset couples portrait session that felt like the perfect little breather before the party properly kicked off. The cake was cut in front of the iconic Old Cow Shed graffiti wall, which, let’s be honest, is an absolute vibe! Followed by epic dance moves, delicious food, a photobooth in full swing, a very good doggo making important rounds, shots being enthusiastically consumed, and some seriously yummy evening bites keeping everyone fuelled.

It was one of those evenings where you look around and think, “Yep. This is exactly how a wedding should feel.”
