Second Wedding Photographer – Why You Should Think About It

Your wedding photos will be the lasting memory of your big day. You’ll show the grandkids, you’ll show Facebook, and you’ll use them to relive memories for years to come. That is why, in my opinion, a good wedding photographer is worth the investment.

I’m not usually one to tell couples what they should and shouldn’t have at their wedding – That’s not my style! However, I feel compelled to share with you the MAGIC of having a second wedding photographer at your wedding and how the simple addition can make your wedding photos truly epic.

1. Getting Ready

Us photographer folk can do brilliant things, but we can’t be in two places at once! A second shooter is essential if you want photos of the both of you getting ready at the same time.

2. A Second Perspective

Having a second shooter means you can have more moments captured and a second perspective. This is especially useful at the ceremony as all those emotions can be caught on camera! Maybe you have guests spread out across different rooms or two things happening at the same time. I’ll say it again, we can’t be in two places at once!

3. A Second Wedding Photographer Means More Candids!

As a relaxed wedding photographer, for me, the magic is in the candids! With a second wedding photographer, you’ll get more of those special moments captured – all the laughs, tears, and dance moves!

4. A Helping Hand

Sometimes, a second shooter can simply be a helping pair of hands that helps your wedding day run smoother. They can help with gear, hold lights and run errands. This makes the life of a wedding photographer SO much easier, and the couples have a better experience as a result.

5. A Second Wedding Photographer Simply Means More Photos

Two photographers = more photos = more memories. Simple maths! Still having photographer quandaries? You might love: Choosing Your Wedding Photographer – How To Find Your Camera Bestie

If you couldn’t tell, I’m a huge advocate for a second wedding photographer. Of course, there are ways around this and you can totally make it work without one. I’m just singing their praises! Most wedding photographers offer this as a package. In my top package, a second shooter is included, and it can also be added on to any other.

All the photos used in this blog are from weddings where I was a second shooter.
